Stained Glass Repair & Restoration
Simple repairs to damaged stained glass can usually be satisfactorily carried out in situ at your glass location. AWM Glass Design Scotland retain a large selection of antique glass in stock and can normally find a good match for the repair, regardless of design or type. When the damage is considered too extensive or where the lead and solder have corroded, it is often necessary to remove an entire window or section of a window to undergo full stained glass restoration. Upon its return to AWM Glass Design studios, the glass panel is stripped. Sound glass is cleaned, and damaged glass is replaced before the window is ‘re-leaded’. Toughened glass or plywood can be used to fill the window opening while the repair is being carried out by AWM Glass Design Scotland’s qualified craftsmen.
